2017/18 Kaisercraft Design Team Application

Hello everyone ,
i am very happy and honored to make it to the Round two of "Kaisercraft design team call 2017/18".Its one of my top favorite brands and a dream team to be a part off,i am excited i am half way through it now.Their papers are to die for and all the coordinating products makes any project shine.

For round two we got to work with a yet to be released collection "Lilac whisper".The collection is so soft, pretty and dreamy with mild floral prints,as soon as i got the papers in hand i know i wanted to make a soft and dreamy layout in shabby chic style. As you know my favorite style is shabby chic and layered with lots of florals and embellishments,so i went all clean and layered for this layout without mixed media touch. The color scheme of this collection is very new and fresh, the soft grey/blue and green works out beautifully together and i found a perfect picture to go with the color scheme, lucky me:))
The best thing about Kaisercraft papers are the pretty florals and elements that you can cut apart,i have used lots of fussy cut flowers and coordinating die cuts that comes with the collection to embellish my layout.
I have few process photos to share on how i made the layout.I love wooden patterns, i have used White wood paper as my base, cut a strip of 4 * 12" of Hydrangea and 3.5 by 11.5 of Illusion papers.
Before gluing down the strip to the base i added a floral border from the sticker sheet.
I thought i need some contrast to the base so i trimmed down the base paper by half an inch and layered it on quiet darker Sage cardstock.
I cut my pattern papers and cardstock to few different sizes to create the layers and composition.I always group them into two or three and pin it together,so that i can stick them in varied dimension and also its easier to tuck in embellishments between the layers.
Now i glued all the layers to the base, for the last layer i added a piece of chipboard to add dimension and also placed my photo(i always stick the photo at last as its easier to make changes while adding embellishments)
Now comes my favorite part,i have fussy cut lots of flowers out of Hydrangea paper and also die cut some flowers and leaves using pattern papers and cardstock.
Now i arranged all the fussy/die cut florals under each layer of paper.I also used some printed diecuts from the collectables.
Some close ups...
