My project : Mixed media canvas
Since its all about beginning the New year with a positive note i decided to make a very airy and soft canvas with pastel shades and kept the quote as the focal point.
My quote says " Start where you are,use what you have,do what you can, and enjoy the journey".Thats one thing i want to try this year,enjoy the journey and not to worry about the destination because the process is equally beautiful as the end result.,this goes for both art as well as life:)
This canvas will be in my art room as a reminder to me to be here and now and enjoy
the process,so i added all my favorite stuffs like flowers,butterflies,
pastel shades and textures.
I also have a step by step process to make this canvas:
Paint the canvas with two coats of white gesso.Once it dried apply paper texture paste through stencil
Spray some water and add Lindys spray -Plumeria pink with brush,using heat gun dry the colors and dab of the excess with tissue paper.
Next add art alchemy paint - Teal pink with brush,spray some water and repeat the steps mentioned above
Apply some crackle paste with palette knife randomly in few places and allow it to dry until you get desired cracks
Stamp randomly using texture stamp and archival inks.
Keeping a resin frame as focal point i created my composition around it using layers of die cuts,fussy cut elements and flowers
Add little more colors around the composition as needed.
Final step is to add some art stones and glitters using soft gloss gel.Randomly apply gel medium over the flowers and few places and sprinkle art stones and glitters over them and tap of the excess.
