today i am sharing a nautical theme tag i made with Prima's newest collection French Riviera and colourarte paints.I love making sea theme projects, but i usually end up using blues n greens(my fav combo) all the time, when i saw the french riviera collection from prima,i just love the color palette-navy blue n brown and was wondering why i dint try this combo before. These colors gives a vintage feel which went well with my theme.I used various beautiful blues with touch of green n brown, available in colourarte,as i always say i love the huge range of shades available with them.
This project is for colourarte Design team call, and i decided to reapply as i loved their products and i certainly took my mixed media to next level.
Supplies used:
Radiant rain dabbers-Mediterranean,guatamalan
Twinkling H2O-carribean mist,pretty peridot,nutmeg,siam white,beach house blue
Primary elements-summer breeze,sea glass,meridian blue
Other supplies-Gesso,modelling paste,stencils
Lets see the process:
I covered my tag with papers from prima French Rivera collection.
I covered the whole tag with clear gesso and a little of white gesso for variation
Applied modelling paste through wave stencils.Once it dried i mixed modelling paste with primary elements and applied it through bubble stencils.Sprinkled some primary elements sea glass n summer breeze and activated it with water.
Now i started arranging the embellishments.I used cheese cloth for base to add some texture, some twines, sea shells, beads of various size n some clay embellishments, everything is glued down with gel medium
Once everything is set,i dabbed some some colors using radiant rain dabbers-Mediterranean and guatamalan
Now over the embellishments n base i used twinkling H2O's green n brown
To add more depth around the arrangement i used primary elements meridian blue and applied it with water brush.
For highlights and splatters i used twinkling H20-Siam white. Its such a milky pure white and works awesome for creating those beautiful white splatters,i was wondering why i dint use it before,i usually use white gesso mixed with water. But this is much more easier to use,n the white is awesome.I also used it over the embellishments to give highlights
Happy crafting,
