MIXED MEDIA CARD

Being a painter basically(i mean artist)i want to incorporate some painting in my cards for long time,but dint have any clue to how to go about it.After seeing julee's mixed media cards,the light blinked in my mind.I love the effect it gives,do take a look at her blog,she has even given step by step procedure she used.But as always i am very impatience to read,i straight away started assuming the procedure by seeing the picture.I made this card for ujjwal's challenge in yvonne's blog.The challenge is to use dry or wet embossing,i have used both.

Actually you don't need to be very careful to do this,just do what ever come in mind,and that adds the beauty to it.I first applied different photo color inks randomly on water color paper(you can even use any other paints,but photo colors are much brighter),then sprayed some water with mini mister for the colors to blend well.After it dries i did some stamping,masking,and misting and added some tissue papers in between to give a lighter color effect(it absorbs the color)and texture.Finally after it dries completely i embossed it with cuttle bug and applied some white acrylic paints with a dry brush on embossed parts.

Here come the most saddest part,i planned to emboss the image and did it with black ink n clear embossing powder.But my heat gun was not working:((the fan is actually working,but heat is not coming n smoke started coming:((i am damn upset,have to go to electrical shop again,hope it works again,pls pray for me:((.I finally embossed it with gas stove,as i don't want to miss the challenge.

I have used MS cherish punch for the card,Spellbinders label 18,cute tag is from cuttle bug dies,stamp is from flourish kid's play and twine from my craft store.



This is how the paper looks before embossing,i really liked this effect a lot n will use this in my next project,may be a mixed media canvas?

PURPLE N PINK

Hi all,
i made this card for anita's window frame challenge.I really want to make something special for her challenge n i think i am succeeded??.Since the challenges is to make a sentiment as the focal point,my tilda went to the side,lolz.The window frame is created with scallop rectangle n plain oval dies.I have tried a purple n pink combo today n it looks great together.

So wat's new in this card?,i have tried coloring with distress inks.I really enjoyed doing it,more or less water color technique but quiet time taking.Yes,it took half an hour to color this picture,which otherwise will take ten mins with color pencils.I was happy with the result,love the super smooth finish it gives.I guess you can make it out in the photo itself,see the close up of tilda.And i have used my silhouette finally!!i was so scared use it in the starting and it really took me a week to learn everything about it.The big doily was cut with it:).

SHAKER CARD

Hello everyone,
finally i am back with a card:).Life has been so hectic this week,and i couldn't even send out the prizes yet,apologize for that.But yeah,so many lovely things are happening for me,yup my most awaited PTI stamps n coordinating dies have arrived finally and i got my silhouette SD,yes you have read it right:),but no time to play with my new toys,phew..and missed on so many lovely challenges:(.To make up all those,finally i sat to make a card today,and it feels really good.

I have tried a shaker card today,with the cutest sleeping baby tilda and filled Pie lane chunky glitters inside.Tried a mono chromatic card with blue n white,which has been in my mind for long.Loads of distressing with broken china n stromy sky inks and added lots of diamond stickles.The flourishes are silhouette cutouts which i bought it from anita some time back when i dont have it:).Hope you like it:).

CRAFT JC CHALLENGE#7

Hi friends,
this is my DT card for Crafty jc challenge#7.As a winner of the previous challenge i am one of the Dt this month.Yes,the challenge is back after 4 months.To all my new blog friends Crafty jc challenge is the only and first ever Indian challenge blog,which is started by one of our Indian crafty friend jaya.The challenge blog has been held up due to her personal commitments,but now she is back and with a bang i should say.Yay,..now itsy bitsy is going to sponsor the challenge blog for next six months,that too with 2 prize packages every month,one for a random winner and other for the winner of the challenge which is worth 1300 rs each,yippee isn't it a great news?

Now to this month challenge the theme is "Digi or doodling".You can use either a digital image or something hand drawn,or it can be even some doodling with your gel pens.
I am damn tried yesterday and held up totally in other works,so mind really refused to think:(..Choosing a nice digi image from lots of theme become a huge task,and finally i made this card today morning.I wanted to make something very nice with lots of embellishments n layers as i do usually,but due to time constraint i make this simple??? card,but wont say its quick.It really take lot of time for me to make a simple layout,lolz.
The digi image is from bugaboo stamps,isnt she is the cutest??i just in love with this image as soon as i saw it,absolutely cute:).Now i am a mood of using all bright colors,because of the summer n chennai heat??The papers are from basic grey n echopark,spellbinders label 18,some twine,buttons and maya road chipboard alphabets are used.

Hello people,
finally the most awaited BIG DAY is here:)).I know you are all desperately waiting for this day,and even i am!!I just cant believe that one month is already over,feels like started now,times flies ,.seriously!!.So i want to thank all the people who supported me through out,i really had a good time and got a chance to interact with many people and got lots of new friends.This one month i dint do much crafting(hardly3 to 4 post of my work this month in my blog)but enjoyed seeing all your challenges entries:))).

SHADOW BOX CARD

Hey people,
hope you are all doing great.Finally,finally i am back into track,i was really in the celebration hang out and couldnt get out of that:))but love it you know.All thanks to mallika,who bugged me to make a card,otherwise it would have taken one more week for me to get out of it.so this card is specially for her,love you girl:)).As i said earlier,lot of things are there in my to-do list,i tried this shadow box card and quiet happy with the result.

I have used blue-yellow combination for the first time,doesn't it look great together??i love it and a great relief for me from my pastel shade cards:).Again my fav pretty tilda,she makes my card even more beautiful:).The pattern paper is from Echo park summer days,love love this collection,Mangolia doo hickey flourish n leaf dies(my most-fav now)some spellbinders dies,MS butterfly punch,a bow and button.Do you know which is my favorite part in card making?embellishing,totally love it and cant get enough of it.Even though i use lots of them will always feel something is missing,lolz.If you see my inspirational card makers cards,kylie,chelisa and camilla,you wil definitely feel what i use is less.I really wonder,how big their cards will be,loads of layers n embellishments,amazing.
